How to Get to and From Banja Luka Airport

Now I will admit options are pretty limited. Most people on my flight had people greeting them at the airport. The small car park was full of cars picking up relatives and friends. There were a few very small hire car booths which is an option.

Another option is to take a taxi, this would be the most direct route to your accomodation or into the city. I believe the journey would cost around 20 Euros one way. Depending on where you are staying in the city, the journey would roughly be between 30-40 minutes.

The cheapest option and the option I took is the bus transfer. This is operated by a company called ‘Smiljić’. I found this service to be very reliable and professional.

Buses operate in connection with a flight departing and landing at the airport. When your flight lands there will be a Smiljić bus outside the small terminal waiting. It is not hard to miss as it was the only bus there when I arrived.

Tickets cost 5 Euros one way and you pay when you get on board with the driver or another company employee who came to our seat and took payment. They spoke English and were helpful, they even gave me a timetable showing what times the bus leaves from the city centre back to the airport.

The journey took 35 minutes into the city due to traffic.

The return journey was just as straight forward. The bus was at the exact place it dropped me off at an hour before it was due to depart. Once again it was on time and prompt and took 30 minutes to the airport.

I recommend this service, it is cheaper than a taxi if you don’t want to splurge on one. It is also an efficient way to reach the city centre from the airport and vice-versa.
